General Introduction:
The output line of Powell lens has vertex aspheric curvature and is energy uniformly distributed. In contrast, cylindrical lenses produce Gaussian beam profiles with hot spot centers and fading edges. The uniformity of output line also depends on incident wavelength, beam size, divergence and working distance. In order to obtain a uniform energy distribution, the vertex curvature of a particular laser beam needs to be fine-tuned and optimized.
