Product Description:Fused silica, is an amorphous (glass) state of silica (quartz, silica). It is a typical glass with long-range disorder in its atomic structure. It offers its high service temperature and low thermal expansion coefficient through three-dimensional structural cross-linking.
Fused silica is produced by melting natural high-purity silica in an electric furnace at a temperature above 1760°C, followed by rapid cooling. This process converts crystalline silica into an amorphous glass melt. The melting temperature of fused silica is about 1713 ºC, the thermal conductivity is low, and the thermal expansion coefficient is almost the smallest among all refractory materials, so it has extremely high thermal shock stability. Therefore, the fused silica shell is rarely broken due to sudden temperature changes during the roasting and pouring process. It is an ideal refractory material for investment casting. It can be used as a refractory material for surface or back coating, as well as a sanding material.

The powder particle size distribution range is narrow, and the density is small, which is not conducive to the flow and dripping of the coating; due to the high transparency of the fused silica coating slurry, it is difficult for the operator to identify the thickness and uniformity of the coating.
2. As the surface layer of sand, the fused silica sand grains are polygonal in shape, and with low density, it is easy to bridge and form floating sand.
