Product Description:Under normal conditions, glass is transparent. Under the irradiation of ultraviolet or visible light, photochromic glass can absorb light in the visible light region, reduce the transmittance of the glass or produce color changes, and automatically return to the original transparent state after the illumination stops. Photochromic glass is generally produced by introducing photosensitizers into ordinary glass components. Usually, the photosensitizer is uniformly dispersed in the glass in the state of microcrystalline, and decomposes under sunlight, reducing the light transmittance of the glass. When the glass is in the dark, the photosensitizer recombines to restore transparency. The tinting and fading of glass is reversible and permanent.
The decorative feature of photochromic glass is that the color and transmittance of the glass automatically change with the intensity of sunlight. If the sunlight intensity is high, the color of the glass will be darker and the light transmittance will be low; on the contrary, if the sunlight intensity is low, the color of the glass will be light and the light transmittance will be high. Decorating the building with photochromic glass can not only make the interior light soft and changeable in color, but also make the building colorful and unpredictable, which is in harmony with the sunshine environment of the building. Generally used for building doors, windows, curtain walls, etc.
There are roughly two types of photochromic glass. One is to create coloring centers in glass, and the other is to contain photosensitive crystals.
Influencing factors:
(a) The effect of alkali is very large, and the glass with relatively large darkening speed and fading speed can be easily prepared from glass containing various alkalis.
(b) When the ratio of alkali is large, the degree of saturation darkening increases, and the half-fading time becomes longer.
(c) The effect of CdO is very complicated. When the amount of CdO is small, the degree of darkening increases, and when the amount of CdO increases, the speed of darkening and fading decreases significantly.
(d) When CuS is used as the sensitizer instead of CuO, darkening glass can be prepared.
(e) When the concentration of copper and X/Ag in the raw material are low, the concentration of Cu+ doped in AgX is low, and the effect of temperature on darkening is small.
(f) The sensitivity of the precipitated crystals increases in the order of AgCl, AgBr, and AgI, and the sensitivity of the effective wavelength extends to the long wavelength direction.
