1).The true zero-order wave plate has low wavelength sensitivity of retardation, high temperature stability, large acceptance effective angle, and its performance is much better than the other two wave plates. However, true zero-order wave plates are often very thin, so they will encounter many difficulties in manufacturing and use.

2).The thickness of a multi-stage wave plate is equal to a number of full wave thicknesses (n×waves) plus a desired retardation thickness.
