General Introduction:
The Raytek pentaprims are usually a solid piece of glass that has been cut and ground, and then coated with reflective material on the outside (except for the two surfaces connected to the focusing screen and the viewfinder) to form mirror reflections on the inside.

The pentagonal prism is one of the constant Angle (90°) beam steering devices. It has two uses: one is to deflect the incoming light at a certain Angle (90°), regardless of the Angle of incidence on the first side; Second, unlike a rectangular prism, the image is neither rotated nor mirrored. Pentaprisms are commonly used in camera viewfinders, image observation systems or measuring instruments.

The characteristic of pentagonal prism is that the light is vertically incident by either side of the 90° Angle, and then reflected by the two sides of the 45° Angle, from the other side of the 90° Angle, the incident light and the outgoing light are equal to the 90° Angle, so the pentagonal prism can turn the optical axis of 90°.
