General introduction:Chromatic aberration is caused by the difference in dispersion and refractive index of light of different wavelengths in glass, resulting in different focal points of light of different wavelengths. Using the combination of different materials, the dispersion of each glass can be compensated by the other glass, so that the overall chromatic aberration is minimized. 

Achromatic lenses are made by cementing convex and concave lenses made of two glasses with different optical properties. Crown glass with smaller refractive index and larger dispersion power is commonly used to make convex lenses, and flint glass with larger refractive index and smaller dispersion power is used to make concave lenses. Achromatic lenses generally can only overlap the image points of the two main colors that are considered to be the main colors to eliminate the chromatic aberration of the two colors.

Product Description:Achromatic Lenses, also known as doublet lenses, are made of two concave and convex lenses with different refractive indices and different dispersion rates, which can minimize or eliminate chromatic aberration. For better performance, generally the side with the larger radius of curvature (the flat side) should face away from the collimated beam. Chromatic aberration originates from the difference in dispersion and refractive index of light with different wavelengths in the transmission material, so that light with different wavelengths converges at different focal points. The double cemented achromatic lens is designed by cementing different material lenses to make the dispersion of the two materials. Compensate each other, thereby reducing the comprehensive chromatic aberration. 

The achromatic design also helps to improve the imaging aberration of the light source (composite light source) with a wide wavelength range, improves the spherical aberration under the appropriate curvature radius, and can simultaneously improve the coma aberration under the condition of any material selection. Compared with optical systems using a single lens, achromatic lenses have sharper images and can form smaller light spots, further improving the optical performance of the lens. Achromatic lenses are suitable for a variety of applications such as fluorescence microscopy, image relay, detection or  spectroscopy.
