General Introduction: Raytek BK-7 right angle prism is polished to λ/8 surface flatness, which is suitable for high precision applications. We provide matching n-bk7 substrate for general laboratory applications in the visible and near infrared range. Our right angle prisms range in size from 3.20 mm to 50 mm, and antireflective coatings can be selected to meet specific requirements.
Total internal reflection
Through the total internal reflection (TIR), the right angle prism can be used as a 90 ° reflector or 180 ° hollow reflector. In addition to the reflection loss of incident and outgoing surfaces, TIR achieves 100% reflectivity based on a very wide wavelength range. If the incident angle exceeds the acceptable range of TIR, or if the environment does not allow the reflective surface to remain clean, the reflective surface shall be coated with protective aluminum in accordance with TIR requirements. The beveled edge can also be used as the first surface reflector. In this case, the outer coating of the black coating shall be removed with acetone
