Product category:There are many kinds of interference filters with different uses. Common interference filters are divided into two types: cut-off filters and band-pass filters.

1.A cutoff filter divides the spectral range into two regions, one in which light cannot pass through (the cutoff region), and the other in which light passes sufficiently (the passband region). Typical cut-off filters include low-pass filters (allowing only short-wave light to pass) and high-pass filters (allowing only long-wave light to pass), both of which are multilayer dielectric films with a high refractive index layer and a low refractive index. A periodic structure composed of alternating layers.

 
2.The bandpass filter only allows light in a narrow wavelength range to pass through. The specific structure is: a translucent metal layer is coated on the glass substrate, followed by a magnesium fluoride interlayer, and then a translucent metal layer. The two metal layers constitute the two parallel plates of the Fabry-Perot etalon. When the distance between the two poles is the same order of magnitude as the wavelength, the interference peaks of different wavelengths in the transmitted light are very separated, and other absorption filters can be used to filter out the light that is not allowed to pass through, so as to obtain a narrow bandpass filter, its passband bandwidth is much narrower than that of ordinary absorption filter.
