Product Description:Fused quartz and silica rods are needed in the semiconductor industry for the manufacturing of batch processing equipment.The critical aspects of the fused quartz and silica rods are low bubble content, high purity and tight geometric tolerances.

HSQ®100 single-step quartz rods are drawn in an electrical fusion process resulting in a cost-efficient solution for many industrial applications.For more demanding and high-end semiconductor applications can provide multi-step and improved single step electrically fused quartz rods in HSQ®300, HSQ®330 and HSQ®330S material quality depending on the purity requirements of the customers' application.This results in a material with enhanced homogeneity and low OH-content for high thermal stability in the final application.

It has a long history of producing fused silica materials with optimized optical properties for a broad range of specialty fiber applications. With Fluosil® rods master the production of fused silica base materials for UV, VIS, and NIR optimized for demanding applications. These fused silica rods are the basis for many types of specialty fiber preforms and applications.

Main applications:Fused quartz rods are available to meet the tight dimensional and visual requirements in the fabrication of batch furnace components to make boats, wafer carriers and pedestals.

Core Material for Multi-mode or Plastic Clad Silica Fibers:
As a material which later forms the light-conducting core of the fiber. These rods should be made of a material which has a low absorption in the desired wavelength region. This rod must then be provided with a cladding. This fiber either is a plastic clad pure silica core fiber (PCS) or the rod is given a quartz glass cladding with a lower refractive index (multi-mode fiber).


Photonic Crystal Fibers (PCF):
For forming a preform for photonic crystal fibers (PCF) (stacking of different glass pieces, or drilling holes into the rods).


Handle Material:
As an aid for the production of specialty fibers.
