1. Broadband filter:
Broadband filters can often be combined with short-pass and long-pass filters. Considering the absorption characteristics of the film, some short-pass or long-pass filters can be used as broadband filters by themselves. The cut-off filter film system can be plated on different substrates, and several cut-off filters with different cut-off wavelengths can form a set of broadband filters with different half-widths and peak wavelengths. Films are not suitable for imaging systems because multiple reflections between films may cause ghost images. In order to eliminate ghost images, the entire thin-film filter must be coated on the same side of the substrate, and the most efficient design method is still to use a symmetrical periodic film system.
2. Narrow Band Filters:
The narrow-band filter allows optical signals to pass through in a specific wavelength band, while the optical signals on both sides that deviate from this band are blocked. The pass-band of the narrow-band filter is relatively narrow, generally less than 5% of the central wavelength value.
