Product Description

Product Description:The double concave lens is similar to the plano-concave lens, the focal length is negative, but the parallel incident light diverges outward, and the two sides of the double concave lens have equal radii of curvature, and are generally used for beam expansion and projection.

Product principle:
The geometric mapping of biconcave lenses is the same as that of convex lenses. There are also two straight lines from the top of the object: one is parallel to the main optical axis, which is deflected into divergent rays after passing through the double concave lens, and the refracted rays return to the main focus in the opposite direction; the other passes through the optical center point of the lens, these two The lines intersect at a point, which is the image of the object.

The difference between a biconcave lens and a plano-concave lens:
Convex lenses are used for myopia; meniscus lenses are used for reading glasses; plano-convex lenses are used for instruments or magnification; plano-concave lenses are used for instruments.
A plano-concave lens is a lens with one side concave and one side flat, while a biconcave lens is a lens with both sides concave.

Product applications:
1) Double concave lens is also called diverging lens, negative spherical lens. The focal length of a concave lens is the distance from the focal point to the center of the lens. The larger the radius of the lens, the longer the focal length. If it is a thin lens, the focal lengths on both sides are equal. When used in an optically sparse medium, it can diverge the incident beam, so it is also called a diverging lens. It is also called a negative lens because of its negative focal length. For thin concave lenses, the imaging formula, lateral magnification formula, and sign laws are the same as for convex lenses.

2) The image formed by the double concave lens is always smaller than the upright virtual image of the object. The double concave lens is mainly used to correct myopia. Myopia is mainly due to the deformation of the lens, resulting in premature collection of light in front of the retina. The biconcave lens plays the role of diverging light. The biconcave lens forms an upright, shrinking virtual image, which makes the image distance longer and just falls on the retina.
